The perennially popular drug-fuelled road trip narrative Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by writer Hunter S. Thompson has had a number of incarnations since it was first printed in 1971. Originally appearing as a two-part piece in Rolling Stone magazine, it was then published as a novel in 1972, and later a 1998 film starring Johnny Depp. The latest medium it appears in renders itself as a natural and logical progression in how we interpret the complex and highly influential piece of writing—a graphic novel adapted by Canadian artist Troy Little. The work moves away from both the style of the original accompanying illustrations by British artist Ralph Steadman, and the imagery of actors Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro  (who play main characters Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo in the film), instead coming up with his own original visual imagining of the tale of a man who crosses the American desert with a suitcase of narcotics in search of the American Dream.
Have a look at some of the images from the graphic novel in the gallery above.
